Can my dog get high from CBD Dog Oil?
No, your pet will not get high from CBD oil. Our CBD oil comes from the hemp plant, which contains less than .3 percent of THC. THC is the psychoactive part of the cannabis plant that most people associate with the “high” feeling. Cannabinoids in our CBD Dog Oil products, including cannabidiol (CBD), will not cause psychoactive effects or a “high” feeling, but will cause a feeling of calm.
What is hemp? Isn’t that just another word for marijuana, or weed?
“Hemp” is the non-psychoactive version of cannabis that has clear benefits as a superfood. In 2003, the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) patented the cannabinoids found in hemp as “antioxidants and neuroprotectants.”
Hemp has less than 1-percent of THC, the psychoactive component in the marijuana plant. Hemp oil and hemp seed oil have immense health benefits and can be used to shrink tumors, ease aches, and calm anxiety. While the FDA prohibits us from making claims about CBD oil benefits, you can read more about the hemp plant here: https://cbddoghealth.com/what-is-hemp-cbd/.
CBD, an agricultural product derived from hemp, is just that. Like broccoli and turmeric, CBD is just a food product.
Is hemp legal?
Yes! Hemp oil is legal in all 50 states, and thanks to the 2018 Farm bill, hemp is being grown in 40 states. https://thehempcoalition.org/
Is your CBD oil just a product made for people with a dog label?
While CBD products are food-grade and safe for human consumption, they are all formulated specifically for pets. Our founder is a medical cannabis expert, and one of our co-owners is a chemist and essential oil expert — both of whom work with a veterinarian to guide every step of the CBD oil formulation process.
We take great pride in caring for your pet and we know your pet is an important part of your family. All of our CBD formulas were made with your pet in mind.
Can my dog overdose on CBD oil? Can other animals, like cats overdose?
Your pet cannot overdose on CBD oil. It is perfectly safe to administer as much CBD oil as you need to provide calm or to ease your pet. You know your pet better than anyone.
How long does CBD oil take to start working?
Each pet is different, so their reaction times to CBD oil may vary. Usually, you should see a change within 5-10 minutes, although some take 15-30 minutes. If you don’t see a change within a half hour, give them another dose of CBD oil. Remember: your pet cannot overdose, and because every animal is different, it may take a bit of tweaking to find the right amount of CBD oil for your specific dog or cat.
What is the dosage for CBD tinctures?
We recommend starting with 1-5 MG per 10 lbs of pet weight every 8-12 hours
For all of our CBD Cat products, cats under 10 lbs should start with 1/2 of a dropper (0.5 mL). Cats over 10 lbs can receive a full dropper (1 mL).
Make sure to shake the tinctures well before each use. To fill the dropper, simply squeeze and release inside of the oil until it is mostly full (.75 – 1 ml). You can administer the oil directly into the mouth, under their lip onto the gums, or you can mix it into food.
Each dog reacts differently to CBD, so your small dog may need 2 droppers of CBD while your large dog may only need one. We recommend that you start with one dose and wait 20 minutes to gauge their reaction before administering a second dose. Remember, you cannot overdose on CBD oil.
How do I administer CBD oil tinctures?
You can squeeze the dropper directly into your dog’s mouth, mix CBD oil into their food, or put CBD oil on a treat. CBD oil can be absorbed through the gums, so you can also lift your pet’s lip and apply directly to the gums. Most dogs love the CBD oil and will lick it off of anything you put it on. In fact, many dogs want to lick the CBD oil tincture right off the dropper.
How long will one bottle of CBD Dog Oil tincture last?
It depends on what you’re treating and how often, but usually each 30 ml bottle of CBD tincture lasts 2-3 months.
Can I use CBD Dog products on my cat?
Yes! CBD products are safe for all mammals, including dogs, cats, bunnies, horses, and other furry friends. CBD Dog makes a line of CBD products for cats, which can be found online and in stores.

My dog used CBD oil, but I am still seeing them fall into old habits. What now?
The typical reaction for most dogs and cat is that the pet will become sleepy and take a nap. Sometimes, old habits die hard. Even after you have treated and cured the original issue.
Continue using CBD tincture to achieve maximum results. Your pet will learn that they no longer need to conduct their old behaviors. Although our CBD products work quickly, dogs may have formed behavioral habits over the course of years, and it may take some time for them to undo those bad habits.
